O avtorju
Pater Slavko Barbarić, OFM, je bil rojen 1946 v Dragićini v bližini Medžugorja, za duhovnika je bil posvečen 1971. Filozofijo in teologijo je študiral v Sarajevu in Schwazu. 1973 je magistriral v Grazu (Avstrija). Doktorat iz pastoralne teologije je dosegel 1982 v Freiburgu (Nemčija).
V januarju 1982 je začel delati z romarji v Medžugorju, kjer je vodil duhovne vaje in seminarje. Po svetu je pričeval o medžugorskih dogajanjih. Je avtor številnih tekstov in knjig o medžugorski duhovnosti, ki so prevedene v dvajset jezikov.
Pater Slavko je umrl 24. novembra 2000 ob 15.30 po končani molitvi križevega pota z župljani in romarji.
O knjigi
Čeprav je nenavadno, je istočasno tudi resnično: naš čas je čas molitve. Ljudje našega časa, ki nenehno nekam hitijo, se zaustavljajo v molitvi. Zaustavljajo se zato, ker čutijo resnično potrebo, da se pogovarjajo z Bogom, da rečejo tisto, zaf kar niso v stanju reči ljudem, najbližjim in prijateljem. Ker vedo, da je Bog najbližji človekov prijatelj. Zato, dragi bralci: če si želite biti bližje in bližji največjemu človeškemu prijatelju Jezusu Kristusu, tedaj si vzemite čas za to knjigo. Vodila vas bo na zelo preprost način, naučila vas bo, kako je treba misliti in kako istočasno ljubiti Boga in bližnjega, saj brez te ljubezni niti molitev ne more biti rodovitna.
Pogosto smo brali različne knjige o molitvi. Pred nami je knjiga, ki je sama po sebi molitev. V tej knjigi ne učimo, kako je treba moliti, ampak se v njej moli tako, kakor bi vsak krščanski vernik moral moliti. Od srca k srcu. Od duše do duše. Od bolnega krika bednega človeka do usmiljenega odziva Boga – človeka.
Avtorjeva beseda
V tej knjižici boš spoznal, da te Marija kliče k molitvi pred križem, k molitvi pred Najsvetejšim. Vabi te tudi, da se dobro spoveš, da se lepo pripraviš na sveto mašo in da se po njej zahvališ. Našel boš sporočila, ki te bodo spodbudila, da se posvetiš Bogu po priprošnji Device Marije. Posvetiti se Bogu pomeni: vsak dan se odločiti za ljubezen, odpuščanje in usmiljenje; delovati proti zlu in grehu, proti satanu in vsem njegovim delom ter biti proti vsakemu sodelovanju z njim.
Vsako molitev se da na hitro zmoliti, tako da zmolimo vse. A s tem ne srečamo Jezusa in Marije. Če tako delamo, nam grozi nevarnost, da čas, ki smo ga namenili molitvi, postane izgubljen in brez pomena in da nikoli ne vzljubimo molitve. Zato je pomembno: imeti čas za molitev.
